Aerospace Exhibit Going to State!

I made State once again, with my re-built multi-stage rocket "Double-Trouble." The last few days leading up to the county fair I have been sanding, priming and painting it to give it a glossy paint job. What's funny is that the new nosecone came in the mail just hours before bringing it over to the fair, just enough time to give it a coat of paint! I have to say, it looks pretty good. It took champ too, all my work paid off.

What kinds of things did you put in the report?

It isn't an official technical report. I listed several "dos and don'ts" based on my experiences with multi-stage rocketry, such as

Do make sure your booster is able to drag separate.

Don't attach the booster too tight or too loose.

Do perform a checklist every launch.

Don't try to remember everything without one. Simple yet crucial things could go undone...

I also included sections on design, construction, the flight, and future improvements.

It's 4-H, so it isn't cut-throat science where every detail has to be in the right format and every source has to be cited. (I am, however, trying to get into the habit of that).

Very cool. Followed your link from Rebelution. I love science and could not help reading the thing about you getting your ham license to track your rocket. I am set up to take my test this Saturday.

It would be cool if you did a computer simulation and presented the flight dynamics. I bet people would be impressed by the speed of these rockets, I mean 0 to 300+ MPH faster than a top fuel drag car...
